PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
Not A grade but still nice and deserving of a good home. Brandberg is arguably on the most collectible localities for Quartz in the world, and specially out of Africa. Regional specimens tend to either occur in basalt vugs, or sold as single crystals. Colour is most often Amethyst or Smokey, else a combination of both. The region is also renowned for optic to near optic quartz specimens. Phantoms and Enhydro are fairly common. Quartz clusters are often found in association with Calcite, Epidote, Prehnite, Stilbite and other regional oddities. The clusters occur in basalt vugs associated to volcanic activity, and are mined on a small scale by multiple individuals across a wide geographic area. Classic Brandberg Quartz specimens may have Lepidocrocite inclusions in the Quartz, but this is not always the case. The inclusions can be specular or needle-like in occurrence. True skeleton Quartz specimens tend to be Smokey Quartz, but this is not always the case. The Brandberg region produces exceptional specimen grade material which has become exceptionally collectible over the past few decades. Price is grade dependant. Item/s are as shown.Product Data
